Automatic tailgate
The hands-free Liftgate is invaluable if you have your hands full. As long as you have your KeyFree key-fob with you (in your bag or pocket) simply wave your foot under the rear bumper of the car and the tailgate will automatically open or close for you.
The latest hands-free technology
Optional Ford SYNC 2 with Voice Control and Touchscreen takes the existing infotainment system a step further with the addition of an 8” coloured touchscreen. This high-resolution display gives intuitive control of several key functions including phone, audio, climate control and optional navigation via voice or touch. Equipped with Ford AppLink, you can also access some of your favourite smartphone apps on the go.
Parking made even easier
Active Park Assist technology can help you park hands-free into parallel spaces and make it easier to park into perpendicular spaces (like multi-storey carparks). The technology can detect a space then control the steering as you reverse into it. Side Parking Aid warns you of any obstructions and Park Out Assist is designed to help steer you out of the tightest of spaces.
Sensors that take the stress out of parking
Parking distance sensors help you judge the distance between your vehicle and obstacles behind you. When the sensors detect an object, they activate an audible warning that intensifies the closer you get to it.
Helping you brake at higher speeds
The Active Braking system is an innovative new safety feature that works when you’re traveling at speeds of over 50 km/h (on a motorway, for example). The technology uses RADAR to scan the road ahead and if it detects a collision is likely, will warn you. If you don’t react, the system pre-fills the brake then starts braking to help slow you down. Below a speed of 50 km/h another technology is there to help you: Active City Stop. Combined, these two technologies give you the reassurance of braking assistance through the whole speed range.
Change gears fast, with your fingertips
Choose an automatic transmission and you’ll get the option of performance car-style Automatic Paddle Shift Controls. These enable you to make rapid gearshifts with your fingertips, even when cornering.
Ford PowerShift. Fast and fuel saving
Combining the convenience of an automatic with the control of a manual, this advanced six-speed gearbox pre-selects the next gear for you so you don’t lose power when you change. PowerShift’s lightning fast, seamless gear changes make driving smoother while saving fuel and lowering CO2 emissions compared with a normal automatic.
Spots the vehicles you might miss
Cross Traffic Alert is an entirely new technology that’s now part of the Blind Spot Information System (BLIS). When you’re reversing out of a space and have limited visibility of the traffic situation, Cross Traffic Alert can detect oncoming vehicles and sound a warning. The technology illuminates a light in the wing mirror too, (left or right depending on the direction of oncoming traffic)..
Tired? Driver Alert can sense it
Driver Alert constantly monitors your driving behaviour and is designed to detect any changes that could be caused by fatigue. If the system identifies you’re becoming less vigilant, a warning icon appears in the display, suggesting you take a break. If your driving alertness further declines, the message is repeated and combined with a chime.
Sees the road signs you might miss
Whether the signs are at the side of the road or above it, permanent or temporary, Traffic Sign Recognition can identify them. An icon of that speed or no-overtaking sign appears on the instrument cluster and changes every time you enter a new limit.
Helping you keep a safe distance
The instrument cluster features Distance Indication. This continuously displays the distance to the vehicle in front and illuminates a traffic light system of coloured icons depending on the proximity settings you’ve chosen. Distance Alert can also alert you with a red warning symbol if you get too close to the vehicle in front.
Smart headlamps
Bi-Xenon Headlamps feature an advanced Adaptive Lighting system that cleverly adapts to the driving situation. Depending on the type of road, the technology automatically changes between four different types of beam pattern to give you the best light distribution. The system also includes cornering lights that move in line with your steering input.
Easier reversing
Bollards, bins, low walls…The rear view camera shows whatever’s behind you on a screen built into the centre console and activates automatically when you select reverse gear. The system also displays virtual guidelines to help you park into the smallest of spaces.

Comfortable, flexible, fold-flat seats
The C-MAX can accommodate a family of five in refined comfort, with the three individual rear seats able to fold flat to maximise space. The seven seat Grand C-MAX also enables you to quickly fold away the middle second-row seat beneath the right-hand seat. This ingenious 2+2+2 layout means you can create a ‘walk-through’ corridor for easy access.

With unique, twin sliding rear doors it’s easy for your passengers to get in and out. This intelligent design also prevents the doors banging against other cars, or walls, in tight parking spaces.
A wheel that puts everything to hand
A new three-spoke steering wheel has been ergonomically designed with the driver in mind. Every button and control is at your fingertips and the position of the wheel improves both the usability and visibility of your car’s instrument panel. The Ford KeyFree System lets you lock and unlock your car, without having to take your key out of your pocket or bag: ideal when you’ve got your hands full.
Start your car with the touch of a button
Now there’s no need to use your key. Simply push the Ford Power Starter Button while holding the clutch down (or brake pedal on an automatic) and the engine fires into life.
Worry-free car sharing with MyKey®
Ford MyKey® lets you set the maximum speed limit, a seatbelt reminder and even the volume of the audio system. The technology is designed to give you peace of mind if you lend your car to a friend or family member, because you can programme the restrictions you want to set for that key. You can keep the unrestricted ‘admin’ key yourself and even have more than one of both if you want..
Wipers that automatically adjust to the rain
Rain-sensing wipers spring into action when they detect moisture on your windscreen, then adjust their speed to deal with whatever the weather throws at you. You can even choose from several sensitivity levels that determine how much moisture can build up before the wipers activate.
Wing mirrors that can protect themselves
To avoid accidental damage, power-foldable mirrors automatically fold inwards when you’re parked. Tucked back, they also protect the stylish integrated indicators.
Ford Easy-Fuel, for foolproof filling-up
This useful technology makes it almost impossible to put the wrong fuel in your car, because the wrong nozzle simply won’t fit. And as Ford Easy-Fuel is a capless system, you’ll never have to handle a dirty fuel cap again.
