NEW FORD FOCUS
With a sculpted exterior and a cabin space that’s more advanced and sophisticated than ever, this is the most refined Focus yet.
The Ford Focus incorporates a wide range of remarkable new technologies, too. For example, Ford SYNC 3 with Voice Control and 8” Touchscreen enables you to intuitively operate the car’s navigation, entertainment and climate control systems, just by using your voice. And an upgraded Active Park Assist takes the stress out of both parallel and perpendicular parking.
A range of state-of-the-art petrol and diesel engines deliver the perfect balance of power and fuel-economy. An advanced PowerShift transmission and paddle shift gear changes maximise the performance and efficiency of both.

A car that puts you in control
Thanks to smart technology and intelligent design, the new Focus makes every minute you spend in the car as comfortable, safe, and enjoyable as possible.
Innovative technologies also ensure you’re as connected to the road as you are with your music, messages and phone calls on the move.
Go hands-free with SYNC 3
SYNC 3 is our most advanced version to date. It’s faster and easier to use, with enhanced voice commands and even more functionality. The new interface has larger buttons for improved usability, and the 8” Touchscreen now features pinch-and-swipe gestures found on smartphones and tablets for even more intuitive navigation. SYNC 3 also features AppLink, Apple’s CarPlay and Android Auto, to display your smartphone’s information on the touchscreen.
Parking made even easier
Active Park Assist technology can help you park hands-free into parallel spaces and make it easier to park into perpendicular spaces (like multi-storey carparks). The technology can detect a space then control the steering as you reverse into it. In addition, Park Out Assist is designed to help steer you out of the tightest of spaces.
Change gears fast, with your fingertips
Choose an automatic transmission and you’ll get the option of performance car-style Automatic Paddle Shift Controls. The paddles are fixed on each side of the steering wheel and with right to change up, left to change down controls you can make rapid gearshifts with your fingertips, even when cornering.
Ford PowerShift. Fast and fuel saving
Combining the convenience of an automatic with the control of a manual, this advanced six-speed gearbox pre-selects the next gear for you so you don’t lose power when you change. PowerShift’s lightning fast, seamless gear changes make driving smoother while saving fuel and lowering CO2 emissions compared with a normal automatic.
Helping you brake at higher speeds
The Active Braking system is an innovative new safety feature that works when you’re traveling at speeds of over 50 km/h (on a motorway, for example). The technology uses RADAR to scan the road ahead and if it detects a collision is likely, will warn you. If you don’t react, the system pre-fills the brake then starts braking to help slow you down. Below a speed of 50 km/h another technology is there to help you: Active City Stop. Combined, these two technologies give you the reassurance of braking assistance through the whole speed range.
Spots the vehicles you might miss
Cross Traffic Alert is an entirely new technology that’s now part of the Blind Spot Information System (BLIS). When you’re reversing out of a space and have limited visibility of the traffic situation, Cross Traffic Alert can detect oncoming vehicles and sound a warning. The technology illuminates a light in the wing mirror too, (left or right depending on the direction of oncoming traffic).

Technology that sees what you can’t see
A Blind Spot Information System can help you change lanes more safely. That’s because radar sensors scan the blind spots on either side of your vehicle. And if they detect a vehicle you can’t see, the technology alerts you with an orange light, clearly displayed in the corresponding side door mirror.
Helping you see, without dazzling others
A useful night-driving aid, Auto High Beam temporarily dips your headlights when it detects oncoming traffic or a vehicle ahead, stopping you dazzling other drivers. It then reverts back to high beam, automatically, giving you maximum visibility. Auto High Beam is available as an option with Lane Keeping Alert (see the Safety and Security page).
Tired? Driver Alert can sense it
Driver Alert constantly monitors your driving behaviour and is designed to detect any changes that could be caused by fatigue. If the system identifies you’re becoming less vigilant, a warning icon appears in the display, suggesting you take a break. If your driving alertness further declines, the message is repeated and combined with a chime.
An advanced system to help you stay in lane
The Lane Keeping System uses a forward-looking camera to detect if you’re accidentally drifting out of lane. Lane Keeping Alert then warns you by vibrating the steering wheel and displaying a visual warning. If you're slow to react or don’t respond, Lane Keeping Aid can provide steering assistance to help guide you safely back into the right lane. The technology is designed for multi-lane roads (like motorways), so will automatically deactivate at speeds below 43mph (65 km/h) or can be turned off manually.
Cruise control that can adapt automatically
With Adaptive Cruise Control technology, you choose the speed you want to drive at and the system will maintain it. If the built-in RADAR sensor detects a vehicle ahead, it will slow the car to maintain a pre-set distance. Once the road in front is clear, the system will accelerate to your chosen speed.
Helping you keep a safe distance
The instrument cluster features Distance Indication. This continuously displays the distance to the vehicle in front and illuminates a traffic light system of coloured icons depending on the proximity settings you’ve chosen. Distance Alert can also alert you with a red warning symbol if you get too close to the vehicle in front.
Smart headlamps
Bi-Xenon Headlamps feature an advanced Adaptive Lighting system that cleverly adapts to the driving situation. Depending on the type of road, the technology automatically changes between four different types of beam pattern to give you the best light distribution. The system can also include cornering lights that move in line with your steering input.
Power and efficiency: enjoy them both
Engine technology plays a key role in the new Focus, helping to reduce both running costs and emissions while delivering rewarding levels of power and performance.
The line-up now includes 1.5-litre EcoBoost petrol and 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine options. Both include Auto-Start-Stop, and fuel-economy figures have been further improved across the range.
All the new engines have been designed to meet the stringent Euro 6 emissions standards. And a version of the powerful 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine already reduces emissions to less than 100 g/km CO2.
1.0l EcoBoost
A version of the surprisingly powerful 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine will offer sub-100 g/km CO2 emissions: the first non-hybrid, petrol family car in Europe to do so.
Ford EcoBoost. Sub 1-litre International Engine of the Year 2016
The diamond-like coating on the piston rings reduces friction; the turbocharger, direct injection and variable valve timing boost efficiency. The result is remarkable performance from such an economical petrol engine. Winner at the International Engine of the Year Awards 2016 for four years running, the 1.0-litre EcoBoost is available in 100 PS, 125 PS and 140 PS versions.
Power and efficiency without compromise
The 1.5L EcoBoost is a new addition to the successful EcoBoost range. The engine has been clevery downsized from the 1.6L EcoBoost, to provide lower emissions and even better fuel economy… without compromising power and handling. Available in: 150PS or 180PS variants and with a 6-speed manual gearbox. An automatic option will also be available from Spring 2015.
An all-new option
The 1.5L TDCi is a new engine. Based on the 1.6L TDCi, it offers the same power on entry level with 95PS, but increased power at 120PS (from 115PS), whilst maximising fuel economy and reducing emissions. This engine is currently available with a 6-speed manual gearbox and, from Spring 2015, as a 120PS with automatic transmission.
The 2.0 litre diesel engine is also new and is available in 150PS with either a manual 6-speed or PowerShift automatic transmission. This new diesel engine delivers a significant reduction in emissions over the 2.0l diesel it replaces.
Maximum cornering control
Torque Vectoring Control balances engine torque between the front wheels to suit the road surface and driving conditions. Operating at 100 times a second, the system is 33 times faster than the blink of an eye. Which means more grip and ultra-precise handling, as you’ll discover when you’re accelerating through corners.
More fuel-efficient gear changes
An illuminated arrow on the instrument panel tells you when to change gear for maximum fuel efficiency. It’s a simple but effective way to help make every journey more economical.
Helping you drive more efficiently
The innovative Ford Eco Mode system continually assesses the effects of your driving behaviour on your fuel consumption. The system analyses your speed, gear shifting, braking and anticipation levels, plus the number of short and long journeys you make. Smart software then advises you on how to improve fuel economy.
Use less fuel with Auto Start-Stop
When your Focus stops at traffic lights or is idling in a queue, Auto Start-Stop can automatically switch off the engine (while still supplying power to essentials like the ventilation, radio and Ford SYNC). When you're ready to move, just depress the clutch and select first gear as usual, and the system restarts. Auto Start-Stop is particularly effective in town and city streets.
Re-charge your battery more efficiently
Unlike traditional systems, Smart Regenerative Charging only charges the battery when it needs it, and, whenever possible, avoids doing so when you’re pressing the accelerator. This can help save even more fuel and further reduce emissions.
Better aerodynamics for improved economy
When you’re driving slowly, the Active Grille Shutter system keeps the grille vent open to cool the engine. When you pick up speed it can automatically close, improving aerodynamics and helping to save fuel. Over time, this technology can make a big difference.
Designed around your needs
Clever design makes ingenious use of every square millimetre of space, maximising convenience and comfort in a compact vehicle.
A wheel that puts everything to hand
A new three-spoke steering wheel has been ergonomically designed specifically for the new Ford Focus. Every button and control is at your fingertips and the position of the wheel improves both the usability and visibility of your car’s instrument panel. For your further comfort, why not take the option of a new heated steering wheel?
Clever storage for your smart devices
The centre console incorporates a space for smartphones and other mobile devices. It has a USB port for connectivity and power too, and a rubber mat to help hold your items securely.
Key-free means hassle-free
The Ford KeyFree System lets you lock and unlock your car, without having to take your key out of your pocket or bag: ideal when you’ve got your hands full.
Start your car with the touch of a button
Now there’s no need to use your key. Simply push the Ford Power Starter Button while holding the clutch down (or brake pedal on an automatic) and the engine fires into life.
Worry-free car sharing with MyKey®
This new technology lets you set the maximum speed limit, set a seatbelt reminder and even control the volume of the audio system. Just insert a key into the ignition, start the car then follow simple instructions to programme the restrictions you want to set for that key. You can keep the unrestricted ‘admin’ key yourself and even have more than one of both if you want. Ford MyKey® is easy to use and is designed to give you peace of mind if you’ve lent your car to a friend or family member.
Wipers that automatically adjust to the rain
Rain-sensing wipers spring into action when they detect moisture on your windscreen, then adjust their speed to deal with whatever the weather throws at you. You can even choose from six sensitivity levels that determine how much moisture can build up before the wipers activate.
