Ford Dynamic LED Technology
A long list of innovations includes Ford Dynamic LED Technology: intelligent headlamps that turn as you turn the steering wheel, helping you see round bends. Rather than traditional bulbs, they utilise ultra-efficient LEDs and also incorporate eight different lighting modes.
As a result, the headlamps can react to your surroundings, giving you a different beam pattern and intensity depending on whether you’re driving in town or the countryside, or in adverse weather.

From LED headlamps that adjust their beam pattern to the surrounding conditions to a communications system you can operate with your voice. And from one feature that takes the stress out of parking to another that helps you stay in lane.
Headlamps that help you see around bends
Using Ford Dynamic LED technology, the All-New Mondeo’s headlamps aren’t just striking; they’re smart. That’s because they precisely follow the road as you turn the wheel, giving you outstanding visibility. They are also able to adjust the headlamps’ lighting pattern, depending on your speed, the environment and the conditions. Eight different modes include specific settings for when you’re driving on town roads, country lanes, motorways or in adverse weather.
Go hands-free with SYNC 3
SYNC 3 is our most advanced version to date. It’s faster and easier to use, with enhanced voice commands and even more functionality. The new interface has larger buttons for improved usability, and the 8” Touchscreen now features pinch-and-swipe gestures found on smartphones and tablets for even more intuitive navigation. SYNC 3 also features AppLink, Apple’s CarPlay and Android Auto, to display your smartphone’s information on the touchscreen.

Easier reversing, as you can view what’s behind
Bollards, railings low walls… the rear view camera shows whatever’s behind you on a screen built into the centre console and activates automatically when you select reverse gear. The system also displays virtual guidelines, to help you park in the smallest of spaces.
Just say the word…
With Ford SYNC 3 you can call up a list of local restaurants just by saying “I’m hungry”, or access the Michelin Guide to help you choose and book. Wi-Fi connectivity is available via hotspots, with a USB modem. And the system includes Ford Emergency Assistance, which can automatically call the Emergency Services in the event of an accident (see our Safety and Security page).
Your music options
Choose from either a SYNC 3 system with four premium speakers, or an advanced Sony unit with 12 hi-fidelity Sony speakers. DAB radio is also available as an option.
An advanced system to help you stay in lane
A Lane Keeping System uses a forward-looking camera to detect if you’re accidentally drifting out of lane. Lane Keeping Alert then warns you by vibrating the steering wheel and displaying a visual warning. If you're slow to react or don’t respond, Lane Keeping Aid can provide steering assistance to help guide you safely back into the right lane.
The technology is designed for multi-lane roads (like motorways), so will automatically deactivate at speeds below 65 km/h or can be turned off manually.
Mirrors that see what you can’t
A Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) can help you change lanes more safely, thanks to RADAR sensors that scan the blind spots on either side of your vehicle. If they detect a vehicle you can’t see, an orange light, displayed in the corresponding side door mirror, illuminates to warn you.
Stress-free parking and pulling out
Using a combination of different technologies, Active Park Assist does more than steer you into parallel parking spots. With Park Out Assist (POA), it helps you pull out of them, too. The Perpendicular Parking (PPA) system can sense if there’s space for your car to fit, then reverse you in. And if there are any obstructions, Side Parking Aid (SPA) warns you. See it here

The new bi-turbo diesel engine: a whole new level of performance
Our new bi-turbo diesel is a highly advanced piece of engine technology.
Not only is it the first bi-turbo diesel we’ve ever installed in a passenger car, it’s also the most powerful, delivering a thrilling and highly responsive 210PS (154kW) with an impressive 450Nm of torque.
The engine also provides outstanding fuel economy and, from just 124g/km, lower CO2 emissions than you’d expect from a powertrain with this level of performance.
Smart design and clever engineering means that twin turbochargers provide power on demand, in every situation.
The primary turbo works at lower speeds, giving you an extra boost when you need it. For example, when turning from a junction into moving traffic. The secondary turbo works at higher speeds for swift, smooth and more confident overtaking.

EcoBoost: getting the most out of your engine
Three EcoBoost petrol engine options use a combination of direct fuel injection and turbo-charging, to deliver outstanding levels of performance and economy:
• The new 1.5 litre EcoBoost produces 160PS with fuel economy of 5.9 litres/100km
• The 2.0 litre EcoBoost delivers an impressive 203PS or 240PS, while a specially tuned sound symposer lets you enjoy its distinctive engine note in the cabin, when you’re accelerating hard.
A range of diesel options
Prefer diesel? Then choose from a range comprising of a 1.5 TDCi and a 2.0 TDCi. All incorporate the latest engine technology to improve power, torque and economy, while lowering emissions. The 2.0 TDCi offers three power outputs, peaking at an impressive 210PS with a twin-turbo, whilst still achieving excellent economy and low emissions.
Ultra-efficient ECOnetic diesel versions
Both diesel engines are available in ECOnetic versions that deliver additional efficiencies. For example: 1.5TDCi ECOnetic with 94g CO2/km; and 2.0TDCi ECOnetic, 150PS & 180PS with 107g CO2/km.
Manual gearboxes that match your engine
There are two 6-speed manual gearboxes available. One is lighter and is fitted to the 1.0 and 1.5 litre EcoBoost engines and the 1.5 diesel. The other has a higher torque capacity, which suits the 2.0 TDCi.
Advanced automatic gearboxes
The all-new model offers two automatic options. A 6-speed automatic gearbox has a high torque capacity and is fitted to the 1.5 and 2.0 EcoBoost engines. Alternatively, the Ford Powershift is available on the 2.0 TDCi, combining the convenience of an automatic with the control of a manual, delivering lightning fast gear changes and power when you need it most.
Finely-tuned suspension, for a more refined ride
The Mondeo has an all-new, multi-link rear suspension. This advanced system is light, rigid and perfectly tuned, for excellent responsiveness, control and ride quality.
Paddle Shift: enjoy rapid gear changes on an automatic
Normally only found on high end sports cars, Automatic Paddle Shift Controls are available with both the All-New Mondeo’s 6-speed automatic and PowerShift transmissions. This racing-inspired technology puts swift, effortless gear changes at your fingertips. And because the paddle controls are mounted on the steering wheel, you can change gear more efficiently when cornering.
Power-assisted steering that responds to every situation
Electric power-assisted steering (EPAS) automatically adjusts to your speed and the conditions.
At low speeds, the system makes wheel turns feel lighter and easier, improving manoeuvrability. At high speeds, when you need greater control, it firms up the steering. Now with new drift control, EPAS also takes into account crosswinds and other driving conditions, while active nibble control reduces any unwanted vibration in the steering wheel.
Instant grip on changing terrain
The All-New-Mondeo’s Intelligent All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system* instantly reacts and adjusts to changing terrain, sending precisely the right amount of engine torque to individual wheels that need the most grip.
This sophisticated system uses sensors and software to proactively decide how much power to send to each axle, before wheel-slip occurs. And as the system is ‘on demand’, it only activates when needed, saving fuel when the road is less challenging.
Clear your windscreen fast, with Quickclear
This clever feature is designed to get you on the move swiftly on frosty mornings. Just touch a button and the system can de-ice or defrost the screen in seconds.
Seats that provide added support… and can give a massage
New Multi-Contour seats are available for the driver and front passenger and the design makes them fully adjustable. As a result, they can provide added support where you need it and even offer you a massage, helping you stay fresh on long journeys. Climate control further enhances your experience, enabling you to set your perfect temperature.
A panoramic roof for a lighter, airier feel
At the press of a button, the electronically operated roof blind glides away, allowing natural light to stream in through the panoramic roof.
